Derek "Del" Boland was one of the early pioneers of UK Hip-Hop. In the mid-late 80's he bought the emerging
underground rap scene to mainstream chart attention not just in the UK, but also across Europe too. As skillful on the 1s & 2s as he was on the mic, he was
one of the true rap originators who worked & performed with artists such as LL. cool J, Public Enemy, Run DMC & Eric B & Rakim.
Sadly, on the 15th November 2009 he passed away at the age of just 44. A cool & humble man, whom I was lucky enough to meet & see perform in person on
several occasions.
He was "The real McCoy" ....You will be sorely missed my bad young brother.
